Pitney Family lore says that my first words were “ee-i-ee-i-o”, so I have been singing since before I started forming full sentences. My first choir was the Heart of the Valley Children’s Choir in Corvallis, Oregon. I continued to sing in choirs through elementary, middle, and high school and then took some time off from group signing. I joined Aurora Chorus in 2017 as an alto 1. Singing in this group with such strong, powerful, and hard working women has brought me great joy. I look forward to each Thursday night rehearsal.

When I am not practicing for an upcoming performance, I am a high school math teacher. I recently completed my 20th year teaching for the Beaverton School District. Outside of work and choir, I enjoy knitting, origami, watching Thorns games, dunking in cold water, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends.
