Born and raised in Washington state on the Puget Sound, Tina has always been surrounded by music, literally, as her dad had a recording studio in their home. Music has always made Tina’s life richer and has helped her cope with tragedy and hardship. In addition to music, Tina wanted to help those in need and decided to pursue being a lawyer. After law school, Tina moved to California.
Tina has had a varied legal career and started off as a lawyer working for a county agency that represented Child Protective Services in abuse and neglect cases. After doing dependency cases for 13 years, she then worked for another County representing various County agencies like Public & Mental Health, the Public Conservators, the Sheriff’s association just to name a few. While in California, to cope with the stress of her job, Tina joined a community choir. After 16 yrs in California, a chance to return to the NW arose and so Tina and her husband packed up their young girls and headed to Oregon.
In Oregon, Tina decided to stay home with her girls and took a break from the fast pace life of being a lawyer and got involved in her girls’ classrooms instead. Helping out in the classroom led to her helping fundraise for her daughter’s schools. and she found she had a knack for design and setting up events and really excelled at helping raise monies for two of her daughters art school and never looked back. Even though Tina no longer practices law, she has found new ways to help others by helping out at the Oregon Food bank on occasion, the Beaverton Mediation center and the Oregon Humane Society. Recently, Tina began helping out at the Meals on Wheels program in Portland and delivers food and makes weekly calls to those in the program to check in on how they are doing. In addition to volunteering, Tina works for a friend in their flower shop, designing bouquets that make people happy. When not working or volunteering, Tina enjoys spending time with her dogs, cats and family as well as going on trips to the beach and hiking. Recently her youngest graduated high school so in an effort to avoid the “empty nest syndrome”, she and her husband decided to take up riding ebikes and have found it quite enjoyable.
